IPS S.p.A. announces the authorization by the ACN to operate as a Security Evaluation Laboratory under the new EUCC certification scheme
ROME – IPS S.p.A. announces the authorization by the Italian National Cybersecurity Agency (ACN) to operate as a Security Evaluation Laboratory (LVS) under the new European EUCC (European Common Criteria) certification scheme. This makes IPS one of the very few laboratories in Italy to have successfully completed the authorisation process with the National Cybersecurity Certification Authority (NCCA).

The transition from the former national scheme to the harmonised EUCC framework marks a significant turning point for the European technology market. Against this evolving regulatory landscape, and in light of the challenges introduced by the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), IPS is positioning itself as a key strategic partner for developers and manufacturers of ICT technologies across the civil, industrial and critical infrastructure sectors. A Centre of Excellence for Global Markets.

The authorisation granted by ACN confirms that IPS meets the most stringent European requirements for impartiality, confidentiality and technical competence. With a robust organisational structure, state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, and a highly qualified team of specialists, the laboratory is equipped to conduct security evaluations at the highest levels of assurance, including vulnerability analysis up to AVA_VAN.5, for clients in Italy, across the European Union and in international markets. “This achievement is not only an important milestone in our company’s development, but also the beginning of a new phase in which cyber resilience will play a central role in IPS’s growth,” said IPS management. “As national certification schemes give way to the EUCC framework, our authorisation by ACN enables us to provide Italian and international manufacturers with direct and effective access to the European Single Market, supporting the certification of high-technology products with the added value of mutual recognition across the European Union.”

IPS’s authorisation by ACN is also the result of the company’s continued commitment to participating in key working groups and international workshops promoted by the European Commission and EU agencies on the implementation of the Cyber Resilience Act and Common Criteria methodologies.

By closely monitoring regulatory developments and actively contributing to dedicated projects, IPS will be able to support companies throughout the entire cybersecurity compliance lifecycle, from the initial gap analysis and preparation for certification through to post-certification product maintenance and ongoing compliance.
